Up Close, Spirit Island

This Painting was part of a series called Field Trip. It takes the viewer across Canada in all the provinces and territories that Glenda had lived in or visited often. This painting is of Spirit Island within Jasper National Park.

This series involves taking the familiar and creating something new in abstraction. Glenda was intrigued by looking beyond the original object or inspiration- to overcome intuition and to encourage people to think more deeply about what they are seeing or experiencing. The goal was to create an emotional connection to the original subject with a unique perspective.
