Nereids

The Nereids were sea nymphs from greek mythology, that often accompanied Poseidon, the god of the sea, and were often viewed as friendly and helpful to sailors.

This painting was created from a series of women in water done to show the ephemeral beauty of both the female form and the way that light can be transformed by that of water.
